Wild Goose Coffee
A small out of the way place in Redlands California in the industrial area butting up to the tri city interjection of San Bernardino, Redlands, and Loma Linda.
Coffee and beans only, no snacks or foods, a little bit of retail goods. Catches the factory and office workers, truckers, and coffee place seekers. They have more than a few clients that use their roast that makes them popular. They have a second location in a retail section of Redlands in Gerrard market which I did not know about until my last trip to the “roasting shop”.
Minimal seating inside plenty of chairs and tables outside at the roasting shop. I brought an Ethiopian washed process BANKO DHADHATO COOP in the Yirgacheffe region.
With a roast date of 2/27 it was a week old when I brought it.
A medium roast profile which was very consistent, with no quakers to be found, I ground a bit course and used my normal ratios for the type of brew I was making, you can see those under the COFFEE CODE coffee places article. Lots of chaff up to a half of gram grinding 20!
I use my camera lens blower to clean the grind up 5 grams at a time! Well worth the effort! Tasting notes listed caramel butter, Amarena Cherry and Jasmine …. my thoughts are that a smooth even taste with a hint of the caramel butter and a bit of the cherry as it cooled down. Very good and much to my liking. Note I have not done an espresso as of yet will be back with that before the beans are gone.
