THE TALE OF THE ENDEAVOR

The now surging storm, washed the deck of the “Endeavor” with what was a river of raging water…the sudden onslaught of what was a summer squall had Brown into a torrent of wind and sea that had quickly turned into an overwhelming fist of destruction…so sudden was the change of the sea that it was soon to crush the sturdy but seemly helpless ship…its crew felt only doom and looked to their captain for a miracle that would save them… but hope was fading… and it seemed that the tempest would only lead them to and antagonizing and

brutal death by sea and rock…
The captain held the woman with all his strength as the angry sea tried to drive a wedge between them….
“At your ready” bellowed the captain to his crew, “all is not lost” his sure and confident voice rising above the screaming wind…the “Endeavor” creaked and groaned as the men struggled to hold their stations…
“Steady lads…Stay be at your ready…” the seconds seemed to last for an eternity as the seemly now frail ship, inched closer and closer to rocky outcropping that meant sure death for all aboard…all eyes were on the captain, and the woman buried her head into his shoulder, and clutching his body with all of her strength…time seemed to stand still as all waited for the captains command… all knowing that if he gave it too soon or to late all was lost…the belief of the captain held together the will and faith of the crew as firm and solid as if in a vise, no one budged from their stations, the woman could feel in the man’s heart, the solid and steady beat of his heart and her fear of being lost diminished and she peered up to face to see him smiling down upon her, and swiftly yet tenderly he brushed his lips on hers she sighed with abandon and clutched him ever more tightly….
“Steady now!!” cried the captain as he raised his fist for all to see…. with a cry of exhilaration the captain slammed his fist into the rail with the mighty cry of
“NOW laddies pull… our future depends on it!”
All hands now heaved with all the might and will they could offer, the taunt lines and windlasses slowly released all the sail the “Endeavor” had to offer the shrieking canvas slowing began to rise…the masts groaned and the rigging nearly snapped as the force of wind filled the now bellowing sails, all hands held there lines and pulled all the harder as the captain roar urged them on…
” we must give all we have”, the captain roared” give all you have, hold back nothing, or all will be lost … it’s now or never… all we have” the woman gasped and spoke in a clear and steady voice “yes all we have it is now or may not be” The valiant ship racked against the rocks, and the two locked eyes with no doubt between them that their destiny lay together
“Steady… steady now, we are committed to the cause” the captain urged the crew, and against all odds the “Endeavor” began to lurch to port, slowly, but with a determination all could feel, the stout vessel began making headway, again the struggling ship touched the rocks that would surly mean failure, the woman again spoke in a voice that one could not doubt…” all we have and it will be enough” she buried her head into the captains chest… so she could feel his heart beat… moments passed and she could hear his laugh ripping though the turmoil of the violent sea and wind…for he knew their efforts were not in vain. The outcome of the storm was no longer feared… their life’s had been changed, together they had navigated through the almost unseen opening that were the “crags of despair and deceit”, and they had foiled the onslaught of destruction brought upon them by the “sea of past experiences and the winds of self-doubt”….. To emerge into the ocean of all that is good…
The sky lightened and the sea calmed almost if by magic…the man still embraced the woman and she him. A glowing warmth spread between them dispelling any uncertainty of the bond they knew they shared…a turning point had been reached.
The man hungrily kissed his woman and her response left him no doubt….and they both knew something had been born within them….he laughed and her smile said more than any words she could have spoken…
The 1st mate yelled to his captain “Captain what is your heading”
“To the future… to the “Isles of Love” amidst the land of new beginnings”
